2012 Toyota Corolla

The 2012 Toyota Corolla continues Toyota's commitment to this line of smaller and more affordable cars.
However, what's worrying about this model and make of Corolla is that it's rated lower in 2012 than most other cars. Indeed, according to US News, the car ranked 40 out of 41. Sources like the Kelley Blue Book were equally unimpressed with this car.

Exterior
The exterior of the new Corolla is uninspiring. Though no one would call it ugly, no one merely buy the car for its good looks. At least one reviewer called it "frumpy." However, this wouldn't matter if the car's insides weren't also uninspiring.
Interior
Because it's so small, the Corolla isn't comfortable for taller drivers, even though the seats can be adjusted for height. Taller passengers in the back seat might find their knees mashed into the back of the driver's seat. Users also complain that though the steering wheel can be adjusted, it's difficult to do so.
The Corolla also has a 12.3 cubic foot trunk, though other cars of its size, like the Hyundai Elantra, have 15 cubic feet. Reviewers not only considered the trunk too small, they also considered it badly designed. The bumper lip and the hinges on the lid make it hard to stow things properly.
The car also doesn't have features like Bluetooth and USB port as standard equipment. Some users didn't mind this, as it made the controls simpler for them to wok. However, some also complained that the powertrain is, despite its name, not that powerful.
Performance
The performance is lackluster and the fuel economy, in this day of high gas prices, is low. The Corolla averages about 28 miles per gallon in the city and 35 miles per gallon on the highway.
These rates are lower if the car has automatic transmission. Similar cars like the Elantra and the Chevy Cruze can get up to 40 miles per gallon on the highway. The Corolla's 1.8 liter engine has four cylinders and 132 horsepower and the car labors when it has to go up a hill and has trouble merging and passing. It has a wildly outdated manual transmission. The Corolla is good for getting to work and back.
Trims
The 2012 Corolla comes in L, LE and S trim. The L trim now sports power windows and door locks and has a keyless, remote control entry. The LE and S have USB ports, Bluetooth and standard audio. The system is mounted on the steering wheel in the LE and S trims.
Safety
While nothing else about the Corolla fired the imagination of reviewers, the car got high marks for safety. It is considered a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. However, as of this writing it hasn't been fully tested by the federal government. The Corolla's basic warranty is for 36,000 miles or three years. Again, there are cars of its type that have better warranties.
Competition
There are a number of compact sedans that vie for attention against the Corolla, among them are the Honda Civic (MSRP $16,745; 28 city / 36 hwy), Nissan Sentra (MSRP $17,030; 24 city / 31 hwy), and the Hyundai Elantra (MSRP $16,120; 29 city / 40 hwy) which has the most attractive price and best mpg among these sedans.
Overall Rating
65 out of 100
What others say:
“In general, the Corolla is softly sprung and lacking a handling and ride sophistication that many rivals now have. The electric power steering is dull and overly light, and that combined with the suspension makes the Corolla feel out of sorts on a curvy road.”Car Connection
“Compared to many rivals, the Corolla is relatively conservative in design and execution, though recent updates have made available some modern features such as wireless cell-phone link and Toyota’s Entune infotainment system.”Consumer Guide
“The rather bland Corolla is a good small sedan. We got a very impressive 32 mpg overall in our test of the 1.8-liter, among the best for a current non-hybrid or diesel four-door sedan. Curtain air bags are standard.”MSN Auto-ConsumerReports
“Among newer (and better) rivals, the 2012 Toyota Corolla is no longer a class leader. In the absence of any significant improvements, we suggest checking out the competition first.”Edmunds
“The 2012 Toyota Corolla's reputation for longevity is legendary, as is its high resale value and fuel economy figures. Yet over the years, Toyota has become complacent with the Corolla, allowing the front-wheel-drive sedan's design to stagnate, its features to become antiquated, and its core audience to grow much older.”KBB

2012 Lamborghini Urus Concept

The 2012 Lamborghini Urus Concept is an SUV with a difference. Extreme performance is coupled with a unique, powerful and dynamic design that includes a number of innovative features such as forged carbon fiber composite in the interior.
The Urus concept car is redefining the design and the dynamics of cars that typically fall into this category by being a uniquely designed, versatile, lightweight yet powerful and efficient SUV.
The Urus concept car is projected to offer the lowest C02 emissions of any in its category. With a power output of 600 hp and Lamborghini's extensive knowledge of how to make lightweight, dynamic vehicles, the Urus is set to impress.

Dimensions
The Urus offers the perfect amount of space, plenty for four people to sit comfortably and still fit a large amount of shopping or luggage. The Urus has been designed with everyday use in mind, for families or leisure pursuits with a group of friends.
The Urus has an unmistakable powerful look, muscular but not bulky, highly athletic and elegant. With a length of 192.9”, it's a perfect fit for the sporty SUV niche but it's also comparatively lower than competitors with a height of just 62.9”.

Design
The front of the Lamborghini shows a clear family resemblance, full of strong, 3D shapes, sharp lines and a clear arrow form with large air intakes and Y shapes in the headlamps. Yet the Urus is also different in many respects, the headlamps have a heptagonal/horizontal form and a new array of LED technology and the rear is surprisingly rounded.
The wheels are a large part of any Lamborghini and the Urus does not disappoint in this respect. The 24" wheels forged from aluminum and have a matte finish feature an elegant double spoke design and carbon fiber winglets that optimize ventilation.
There are no obvious rear-view mirrors on the Urus, instead there are small, aerodynamic cameras that that monitor traffic conditions.

Kia Optima 2011

The completely redesigned Optima, named the Kia K5 in the South Korean and China market, made its world debut at the 2010 New York Auto Show. It features a much sleeker, sportier profile designed by new Kia design chief Peter Schreyer, following the new design language featured on the Kia Forte, Kia Sorento, and upcoming Kia Sportage and Kia Cadenza — and using Kia's new corporate grille, known as the Tiger Nose, also designed by Schreyer. Lead designer of the TF in the team of Peter Schreyer and Miklos Kovacs was the Italian Davide Limongelli. For the first time, this model will be using the Optima name worldwide, where the Magentis name had been used previously.

The new Optima retains its trim lines of the base LX, upscale EX, and sporty SX models. Standard equipment includes safety features such as electronic stability control (ESC) and ABS brakes, as well as Sirius Satellite Radio, cooled glove box, iPod connectivity, and handsfree Bluetooth phone operation. EX model options include Kia's new UVO infotainment system by Microsoft, integrated backup camera, and Proximity Key with Push-Button Start. A panoramic moonroof, heated and cooled front seats, heated rear seats and a navigation system are also available. SX models add a rear spoiler, metal pedals, black hybrid metal and carbon insert trim, paddle shifters, and illuminated scuff plates.
A Hybrid model and a Turbo model have already been released. In addition, a wagon version will hit European markets, and two-door coupe version may arrive in the U.S. at a later date.

Fastest Cars In The World: Top 10 List 2012-2013

Here are the 10 fastest street legal cars available on the market (production models, as opposed to concept or modified cars) measured by tested top speed (theoretical speeds do not count).

1. Bugatti Veyron Super Sport: 267 mph, 0-60 in 2.4 secs. Aluminum, Narrow Angle 8 Liter W16 Engine with 1200 hp, base price is $2,400,000. Although the Bugatti Veyron lost the title to SSC Ultimate Aero on March 2007, Bugatti challenge the record in Germany on July 10, 2010 with the new 2010 Super Sport Version and the Veyron once again claims the title of the fastest car in the world at 267 mph. The original Bugatti Veyron has a top speed of 253 mph, priced at $1,700,000 and equipped with 1001 hp.

#2 is a tie at 260 mph!
2. Hennessey Venom GT: 260 mph, 0-60 in 2.5 seconds, has a 6.2-liter LS9 Turbocharged V8 Twin Turbo V8 Engine producing 1200 hp, has a price tag of $950,000. The Venom GT has yet to be tested and proven, but could possibly hit a top speed of 275 mph. This might just be the Veyron Super Sport's closest competitor!

2. Koenigsegg Agera R: 260 mph, 0-60 in 2.9 secs. 5.0-liter V8 Engine with twin turbo’s, housing 1099 hp. Base price is $1,600,000. If you're into snow sports, the Agera R can be fitted with a Ski Box as well as winter tires, not that I would take one on a ski trip or anything like that. While the Agera R has a massive theoretical top speed, the current tested top speed is 260 mph. Expect this snow car to be the Bugatti's arch enemy for the next 5 years.

Also a tie for #3.
3. SSC Ultimate Aero: 257 mph, 0-60 in 2.7 secs. Twin-Turbo V8 Engine with 1183 hp, base price is $654,400. Tested in March 2007 by Guinness World Records, The SSC Ultimate Aero was the fastest car in the world from March 2007 to July 2010. On March 2011, the Koenigsegg Agera R also surpassed it, forcing this American made car to the #3 spot. Shelby SuperCars will continue their quest to reclaim the fastest car title, and their new SSC Tuatura might do the job (we'll just have to wait).

3. 9ff GT9-R: 257 mph, 0-60 in 2.9 secs. 4.0 Litre V6 Twin-Turbo Engine with 1120 hp, base price is $695,000. Based on the Porsche 911, the 9ff GT9-R 1120 hp version is limited to 20 units and the exterior may be modified to suit the owner.    ]

4. Saleen S7 Twin-Turbo: 248 mph, 0-60 in 2.8 secs. Twin Turbo All Aluminum V8 Engine with 750 hp, base price is $555,000. Smooth and bad-ass. It will make you want to show it off non-stop.

5. Koenigsegg CCX: 245 mph, 0-60 in 3.2 secs. 90 Degree V8 Engine 806 hp, base price is $545,568. Made in Sweden, it is the older brother of the Agera R, only losing to 4 other supercars in the world.

6. McLaren F1: 240 mph, 0-60 in 3.2 secs. BMW S70/2 60 Degree V12 Engine with 627 hp, base price is $970,000. The fastest car in the 20th century with doors that looks like bat wings. Maybe Batman needs to order one and paint it black

7. Zenvo ST1: 233 mph, 0-60 in 2.9 secs. Twin-Charged 7.0 liter V8 Engine forging 1,104 hp. Base price: $1,225,000. The first Supercar from Zenvo Automotive, a Danish sports car company in pursuit of speed and perfection. This 100% Danish made supercar is limited to 15 units and the company even promised "flying doctors" to keep your baby functioning.

There is a tie for 8th place at 225 mph.
8. Gumpert Apollo: 225 mph, 0-60 in 3.0 secs, 4.2 liter V8 Engine that houses 650 hp. Base price: $450,000. Gumpert claims that the Apollo was designed such that it could drive upside-down in a tunnel with speeds at 190 mph or above. Of course, no one has tested this yet.

8. Noble M600: 225 mph, 0-60 in 3.7 secs. Twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 Engine with 650 hp. Base price is $330,000. The Noble M600 also happens to be a very cool car. Its inconspicuous design sports a slender and contoured body which does not scream out for attention at every second of the day.

There is a 3-way tie for #9!
9. Aston Martin One-77: 220 mph, 0-60 in 3.4 secs. 7.3 litre V12 Engine with 750 hp. Base price: $1,850,000. The production of this is limited to 77, hence the name One-77. This is beauty and power packed into One.

9. Ascari A10: 220 mph, 0-60 in 2.8 secs. 5.0 litre BMW V8 S62 Engine with 625 hp. Base price: $650,000. The company planned to produce 50 of these supercars at its factory in Banbury, England.

9. Lamborghini Aventador: 220 mph, 0-60 in 2.9 secs. V12 Engine with 700 hp, base price is $379,700. According to Lamborghini, Aventador is the name of a Bull that entered into battle at the Saragossa Arena on October 1993. This is the fastest bull in the world!

Oh god.. We have another 3-way a tie for 10th place:
10. Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster: 217 mph, 0-60 in 3.4 secs. Twin turbocharged AMG V12 engine that produces 678 hp. Base price is $1,850,000. The Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster is a limited-edition, with five ever produced. It is the quintessential exotic and exclusive supercar.

10. Ferrari Enzo: 217 mph, 0-60 in 3.4 secs. F140 Aluminum V12 Engine with 660 hp, base price is $670,000. Only 399 were ever produced; the price goes up every time someone crashes.

10. Jaguar XJ220: 217 mph, 0-60 in 3.8 secs. Twin Turbo V6 Engine with 542 hp, base price was $650,000. Made in 1992, this car still has what it takes to make the list.
